Make a quick donation for vulnerable Children and Orphans
Children's, Orphan's and Widow's of African Relief currently work in Ethiopia in a village called KULA located in Arsi zone. Our vision is to reach out all over Ethiopia and serve those with basic needs
Ethiopia is a beautiful contry in East Africa orignally called Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia with a population of over 93 million. 85% of Ethiopians are dependent on agriculture as a source of livelihood but rises in food prices and regular droughts mean that many families are unable to buy or grow enough food to feed themselves. Despite international commitments and sustained economic growth, almost 30 % of Ethiopians survive on less then $1.25 dollars a day.
UNICEF data states there are more than 4.5 million orphaned children living on the streets nationwide with more then 100,000 in Addis Ababa alone. The average age at which children begin living on the streets in Ethiopia is 10 years old, but 20% are under the age of five.
High death rates caused by AIDS, inadequate medical care, and unsanitary living conditions have added another layer of stress on the already precarious family institution of the poor. African Relief Trust (ART) provides care and support for vulnerable Orphans and Widows by partnering with organisations and donors providing support according to their needs. This helps to provide nutritional, educational support, basic medical care spiritual discipleship and invaluable relationship with local leaders.
