History

African Relief was founded in 2010 in response to the devastating need of orphans and widows in Ethiopia following the fall of the Derg (Mengistu Haile Mariam). These Children's and Widow's had serious basic needs for clothing, food, medical attention and facilities, but more compelling was their need for love, care and human interaction, and future hope.

In response, Children’s and Widow's of African Relief developed a holistic approach, which helps meet medical, physical, educational, emotional, and spiritual needs of orphaned children and youth, in fulfillment of our mission.

AR leadership felt God calling them to help orphaned and vulnerable children. After much prayer and deliberation, AR partnered with Saudi scholars, businesses persoanls and their indigenous staff to begin working in a village called Kula own in southeastern Ethiopia located in Arsi Zone of the Oromia Region.

In 2010, further opportunities allowed for AR to begin partnering with Saudi Arabia ministry and its peers.

Children’s and Widow's of African Relief currently has active partnerships in Ethiopia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia hoping to expand this noble cause with others. Come and join our hands.
